Walking street

Raw and untamed with music jarring every cornor of the street. Throngs of farang jostle through the pulse. we find a sliver of untouched sand and settle in to the quiet rhythm of the sea. We tell a few friends who join the following year, demanding lasagna and wine. the neighbor sees the fiancial gain of renting out rooms and within 5, 10 years the area is thumping to the techno beat of a dozen nationalities. Dirt roads once tranversed with bicycles are paved for lorries. we do this everywhere don't we??????

What surpises me most is the loneliness these men must feel to travel half way across the world to pay for "love". In attempt not to judge, I leave the walking street, grateful for Hat Jomtien, Pattaya's quieter sister and my very quiet hotel.

I suppose today is more a photo journal of the wickness that was found. Embraced by so many retirees (couples and single men). I remain confused at how so many couples wish to come here for holiday year after year. The disfunction of social morals disorienting. Oops-there I go judging again....sorry
Finished The Weight of Water last night and will spend the afternoon preparing for India
